International Women's Day-Celebrating 100 years

Happy International Women's day! It is is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. In some places like China, Russia, Vietnam and Bulgaria, International Women's Day is a national holiday

One of the most moving books that I have ever read about the plight of women around the world is Half the Sky by Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn.
It highlights stories of women around the world and so powerfully shows the amazing results of women standing up and taking action against all odds. Today I salute the women of Half the Sky. Go to http://www.halftheskymovement.org/ to learn more about these amazing stories.

Each of us can think of women who have inspired us and made a difference in our communities. Africa Diaspora Professional Women in Europe (ADIPWE) released this video of 20 inspirational women of the African Diaspora in Europe.

Many inspirational women may never be named on a list or honored in any way. Take a moment today to celebrate them and their work. Send us comments on who inspires you and allow us the honor of celebrating them with you.

To learn more about the day or participate in a planned events in your area, visit http://www.internationalwomensday.com/.

  1. Hi there! Quick question that’s entirely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My blog looks weird when viewing from my apple iphone. I’m trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to resolve this problem. If you have any recommendations, please share. Cheers! game slot online indonesia
