I am a Kenyan by birth, live in the US and a HR practitioner by profession. I am passionate about living life fully, have various interests which I will write about on this blog.
I enjoy learning about investing, entrepreneurship, finance, healthy natural hair, growing careers, planning great events, home décor and keeping up with the happenings in the world. I gain so much from conversations with others which help me learn and grow.
I am so grateful for the opportunities I have been given. I have taken some and messed up some but I have learnt to take the lessons and move on.

I am interested in the way people live and the choices they make in their day to day lives. I am fascinated by stories of self development and entrepreneurship, politics, social policy and community development. I enjoy fashion, travel and theater. A perfect day would include a good book or stimulating conversation, a nice glass of wine and a good massage.
My goal in this world (don’t know yet about the next), is “to live a full life, not just the good life”. Maximize the moments, strive for excellence, make a difference, and help others do the same.
There is much that I know now that I wish I had known ten, twenty years ago. There is also much I still do not know. I have a passion for learning new things and I think one of the best ways to learn is to share what you know with others and from that interaction you can learn from them too.

Why Makuti Lounge?
The makuti is a coconut palm leaf used as a roofing material in various parts of the world. The palm tree is a beautiful tree which can be seen lining many driveways in coastal areas and is now widely used in landscaping design. A lounge is a place where people relax.
