Treasures in your Kitchen

As immigrants, it takes a while to get used to a new country and discover where to get personal services. Here are some products that we use in our kitchen that could be used as personal care products.

Coconut milk
This is my all time favorite product. It is great for making curries and rice. It helps to fight bacteria and to strengthen the immune system. Mix it with your favorite conditioner to deep condition hair. You can also add a little to your moisturizer and use it to for your skin.

Olive oil
This is great oil for cooking. It can also be used moisturize the skin and hair. Use it for the ends of your hair to keep your hair moisturized. You can also use it as a hot oil treatment.

Coconut Oil
This has the same uses as coconut milk. It can be used as a hot oil treatment and to moisturize your hair. Massaging your head with coconut oil can help relief fatigue. It can also help heal bruises on the skin.

Castor Oil
This oil is great for the skin and hair. It helps with fungal infections on the skin and nails. Castor oil hydrates and softens the skin. It is great for restoring the skin's youthfulness. This oil is best used in externally.

Honey
Besides being a great sweetener, honey has healing properties. Take honey before your workout to boost your energy. It can also be used to keep skin toned and to clear acne. Adding a spoon of honey in your conditioner helps with deep conditioning. It is also great for keeping hair moisturized because it attracts and holds water.
