Anyone, heard the story making the rounds that the world will end on May 21st? The story has caught traction because of an organization called Family Radio that has bought ad space on hundreds of billboards plus sent numerous volunteers to travel the country spreading the word.
The guy who declared May 21 as D-Day, had also declared D-Day in September 1994. But apparently that had only been a best guess based on the information available at the time. May 21, he says, is really the day.
Even though this is not the first time that such "prophecies" have been proved wrong - the world is still here - there are people who believe this stuff. And they plan for it by doing incredibly dumb things like spending all their money and giving away all their worldly possessions.
I don’t know if the world is going to end or when it’s going to end but seems to me that instead of spending valuable time “spending money and giving away stuff”, if they really do believe that D-Day is next week, then they should be spending that time spreading the word.
What I really want to know is, if the world is indeed going to end, why give away your stuff to someone else? Isn’t their world going to end too?
