Starting your journey to Solopreneurship

Red Jade sparked my interest in her articles on being a solo-preneur. If you missed them, click here and here  to understand the concept. Most people want to use the skills they have gained to make a contribution and also have the flexibility and time to enjoy their life. Tim Ferris introduced the concept in his book The 4- hour work week which addresses how to take mini retirements, outsource your life and still provide value. If you are anything like me and have worked a traditional work schedule most of your working life, it can be hard to get started.

Considering making the big leap to solo-preneuring? These resources might be of some help:

The solopreneurship life blog is a great resource with many great tools. You can get inspiration from the featured soloist section and join the community where you can get support from other solo-preneurs.
To get started, click on the How to start your small business page. It addresses such issues as
  1. Is solopreneurship for you?
  2. Improving your decision making?
  3. Setting your life goals
  4. What kind of business will it be?
  5. Creating a business plan
  6. Deciding on a business model and many others
Add a comment and tell us your biggest hurdle in getting started.
