First Day At The Counter
(A new immigrant is working at a fast food counter. She is taking her first order after training)
Me: “Welcome to McDonalds. what can I get you today? ".
Customer: “I would like the big mac meal with no onions”
Me: “Would you like that to come or to go?.”
Customer: Blank stare?
Me: “To come or to go?.”
Customer: "You mean for here or to go?" "To go please"
Me: Glaring and thinking that is what I said “Yes” I reply
